Elegant wine tastings, luxurious dining...
all on lands once owned by Tuscan dukes.
This exclusive estate sits on property of historical significance – land of medieval Italian notability – in Tuscany, a region celebrated for its striking beauty and remarkable art and architecture.
Boasting picturesque views of cascading hills, fertile vineyards, lush olive groves, and pristine Italian gardens, this vacation retreat is one supremely alluring destination.
Situated near Cortona, Villa Petrischio possesses an enchanting view of the Valdichiana. Built in the eighteenth century on the highest hill in the area, the villa once belonged to the Lambardi Counts, who made the villa their home.
On our tour, you'll taste wines produced by Tenimenti d'Alessandro, cultivated from the Syrah grape. Their elite flagship wine, Il Bosco, recently garnered a Wine Spectator rating of 95.
Numerous tasting notes on this wine describe it as complex and subtle, layered with aromas of blackberry and dark chocolate and/or coffee, and boasting full body, with velvety tannins and a long finish.
Similar to Il Bosco, but on the younger side, it is distinct in attributes accounting for the youth of the vines used to produce it and certain other processing factors. This wine, which is extremely pleasant and approachable, consistently obtains ratings in the high 80s.
This newer wine is cultivated from the finest of the vineyard's Syrah. Wine Spectator’s James Suckling referred to it as "the bomb." This first vintage is full-bodied – having been produced by the estate's finest fruit – and carries aromas of blackberries, anise, and black pepper with highly polished tannins and a very long finish.
This white, comprised of 100% Voignier, presents oak-heavy and fruity tones, as well as an aromatic character that is at once floral and caramel. This wine is on the precipice of world fame and should soon be acquiring some fine reviews.
A good wine should be accompanied by the finest food, and our tour brings you the best of Tuscan cuisine.
Starting with the classic antipasti, or appetizers, enjoyed throughout the centuries by the nobility and commoners alike, you will be served an assortment locally produced cheeses, breads, patès and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
The traditional Italian meal includes one or more pasta dishes after the antipasto. Our tour offers three pasta dishes that vary according to the season.
Following the pasta course, the main course features locally grown meat, fish or fowl dishes. Vegetarian alternatives also are available.
Finally, your meal ends with a classic Italian dessert, prepared by one of the highest rated pastry chefs in the area.
Each course is accompanied by an appropriate wine, as selected by our sommelier.
